چکیده

Natural enzymes are extremely specific and efficient biocatalysts, facilitating almost every biochemical process in living organisms with rapid rate (1019 times) of reaction [1]. Although the location and function of natural enzymes are well orchestrated, their practical utility is often compromised by some of their intrinsic hitches. These drawbacks could be the high cost of production, purification and storage, lower stability in extreme physiological conditions, lower recyclability, and the stringent requirement for optimum catalytic activity [2-4]. In this context, next-generation artificial enzymes are needed. Recent developments in nanotechnology have led to the generation of nanomaterials exhibiting the catalytic activities analogous to natural enzymes [5-10]. These catalytically active nanoparticles (nanozymes) seem to solve the issues related to natural enzymes, Abstract

Release of proteins and enzymes from vesicular compartments by alternating magnetic fields.

The magnetic release of catalytically active enzymes from vesicular compartments within aggregated nanomaterials has been demonstrated. These nanomaterials, magnetic nanoparticle-vesicle aggregates (MNPVs), were formed by the self-assembly of biotinylated silica-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles, biotinylated vesicles and tetrameric avidin. The unique features of nanoscale magnetite allow adhesion bet...

Graphene-Based Nanomaterials as Efficient Peroxidase Mimetic Catalysts for Biosensing Applications: An Overview.

"Artificial enzymes", a term coined by Breslow for enzyme mimics is an exciting and promising branch of biomimetic chemistry aiming to imitate the general and essential principles of natural enzymes using a variety of alternative materials including heterogeneous catalysts. Peroxidase enzymes represent a large family of oxidoreductases that typically catalyze biological reactions with high subs...

A Novel Reference Current Calculation Method for Shunt Active Power Filters using a Recursive Algebraic Approach

This paper presents a novel method to calculate the reference source current and the referencecompensating current for shunt active power filters (SAPFs). This method first calculates theamplitude and phase of the fundamental load current from a recursive algebraic approach blockbefore calculating the displacement power factor. Next, the amplitude of the reference mains currentis computed with ...

Recent Advances in the Application of Magnetic Nanoparticles as a Support for Homogeneous Catalysts

Magnetic nanoparticles are a highly valuable substrate for the attachment of homogeneous inorganic and organic containing catalysts. This review deals with the very recent main advances in the development of various nanocatalytic systems by the immobilisation of homogeneous catalysts onto magnetic nanoparticles. We discuss magnetic core shell nanostructures (e.g., silica or polymer coated magne...
